The Delhi government on Friday announced the second instalment of its flagship “Job Fair” from November 16 to December 9 with the aim to provide employment opportunities to at least 10,000 job seekers here
The first job summit, conceived and organised by the Delhi Labour Department, had taken place in July this year with around 21,000 Delhi residents landing jobs across various companies and profiles.
“We have a target of getting around 10,000 unemployed people jobs through this fair. We have approached several companies, including LIC, which will be participating in the 23-day job fair,” Delhi Labour Minister Gopal Rai told journalists here.
The concluding session of the job fair will be held at the Thyagraj Stadium on December 9, where selected applicants will be given offer letters. Like the last time, the Minister said, jobs for security guards, attendants, helpers, housekeeping, telecallers, financial planning advisors, drivers, peons and data entry operators among others are up for grabs. A dedicated helpline — 011-22386022 — has been launched to assist potential applicants.
Interested applicants can register themselves on www.employment.delhigovt.nic.in till November 15. The job fair will be organised at the District Employment Exchange in R. K. Puram, Viswas Nagar (Institutional Area), Kirby Place (Delhi Cantt) and Indian Agricultural Research Institute Complex (Pusa).
