Tech News 17-August-2015

1.  Egypt is looking to add 500,000 new internet users by the end of 2015 and increase its internet penetration rate to 50% from 34% by the end of 2016, communication minister Khaled Ali Negm said.
2.  Apple says it more than doubled the numbers of women, blacks and Hispanics hired in the last year, although that barely moved the needle in terms of improving the diversity of its total workforce.
3.  Global software major Infosys Ltd will offer its flagship Finacle product to service US banks' Verizon cloud platforms."We will offer solutions to US banks and financial institutions through the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, which is serving 547 million customers worldwide," the city-based bellwether said in a statement on Friday.
4.  This is hardly a surprise. Google tried updating every Android phone on the planet to fix a vulnerability that let hackers take over devices with a single text message. Now, security researchers say that the patch itself is vulnerable. Talk about stage fright!
