1. Veteran cricket Marathi commentator Bal Pandit passed away in Pune, Maharashtra. He was 89. He is considered as pioneer of cricket commentary in Marathi who had made the game more popular in Maharashtrian households.
2. Afghan refugee teacher Aqeela Asifi has won the 2015 United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Nansen Refugee Award.
3. The Supreme Court (SC) has stayed the implementation of the Haryana Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 2015. The bill which was passed recently sets mandatory minimum qualification for candidates contesting Panchayati elections.
