The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in collaboration with the India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) has initiated a week-long creative expression contest from September 21-28.
The contest is open to students of CBSE-affiliated schools across the country. Students can submit essays, poems or drawings.
A circular in this regard was issued by DT Sudharsan Rao, CBSE joint secretary and in-charge (academic and training).
"The Central Board of Secondary Education in collaboration with the India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS), Ministry of External Affairs, organizes Creative Expression Contest," read the circular.
The contest will be conducted under three categories -- Classes I to V, Classes VI to VIII and Classes IX to XII. The best 36 entries in each category will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,500, besides a certificate of merit and a certificate of participation to each student.
"The schools shall conduct the competition and select the best entry in each category for submission to the respective regional offices of CBSE. Each regional office will select five best entries in each category and submit them to the joint secretary and in-charge (academic & training), CBSE," the documents further read.
