Sports News 23-August-2015

1. As it turned out yet again, day three of a Test match carried much significance. If in Galle, it was Dinesh Chandimal's lion-hearted effort that bailed Sri Lanka out of trouble, at the P Sara Oval in Colombo, the Indian bowlers led a spirited fightback to turn the tables on the opposition.

2. National badminton coach P Gopichand on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Indian players in the just-concluded World Championships in Jakarta. 

3.  Sania Mirza was the only Indian left competing in the Western and Southern Open by reaching the semifinals as Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna were ousted from the men's doubles with their respective partners, here.

4.  India's Aditi Ashok made history when she became the first from the country to win the Ladies British Amateur stroke play golf championship at the Moortown Golf Club here.
