Sports News 19-August-2015

1.  Star striker Lionel Messi's debut for Argentina lasted less than two minutes as he was sent off, shortly after coming on as a substitute against Hungary in August 2005. Since then, however, his career in national colours has been more unpleasant than festive for Messi as he completes 10 years for his country this August.

2.  World Championship silver medallist shuttler Saina Nehwal feels her decision to change base to Bangalore under Vimal Kumar's tutelage turned out to be a masterstroke as it helped her regain her game and prolong her career, which was in serious doubt last year.

3.  There was some good news for the Indian camp as Murali Vijay appears to have recovered from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the first Test in Galle. The opener took part in a game of 'footie' and had a full nets sessions for almost an hour on Tuesday. Vijay's return to fitness will solve a lot of headaches for the team management as he will slot straight in to replace injured Shikhar Dhawan. The question mark hangs over the No. 3 slot and the team's think thank appears to have opted to put their faith in Rohit Sharma, for this match at least.

4.   Multiple Grand Slam winner Roger Federer said the sport of tennis cannot afford to tolerate Australian Nick Kyrgios' behaviour adding that the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) should "come down hard" on the controversial 20-year-old.
