1.  Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests of the three-match Test series against Sri Lanka due to a hairline fracture in his right hand.
Dhawan, who scored a century in the first innings of the first Test, did not come out to field in Sri Lanka's second essay and clearly looked uncomfortable during his stay in the middle during India's botched chase.
2.   Britain's Andy Murray snapped an eight-match losing streak against top-ranked rival Novak Djokovic on Sunday to win the ATP Montreal Masters only hours after his coach Amelie Mauresmo gave birth.
3.  Following a tied fifth finish at the 97th Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Championship here, Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri on Monday jumped 15 places up to be 38th in the world rankings that was topped by American Jordan Spieth, who replaced Rory McIlroy.
4.  Notwithstanding India's shock defeat in the first cricket Test against Sri Lanka, Team Director Ravi Shastri today made it clear that the team will not change its style of play in the remaining two Tests, saying the endeavour has always been to play "fearless cricket". 
5.  Saina Nehwal, on Sunday became the first Indian to bag silver in Badminton World Championships. Even though the World No. 2 fell short of creating history, her effort was the best performance by an Indian in the event.
